Mr. DiQuollo is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner, a Certified Public Accountant and a Personal Financial Specialist (CPA/PFS). He holds BS and MBA degrees from Seton Hall University. Bob is a member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants. Prior to joining Brinton Eaton in 1988, Bob had nearly 20 years of experience as a tax specialist with local and national CPA firms. He is a former Director of Red Oak Bank, and a Trustee of numerous private family foundations. Mr. DiQuollo specializes in financial planning, tax planning, and investment management.

Jerry A. Miccolis, CFA®, CFP®, FCAS, MAAA

Principal, Chief Investment Officer and Senior Financial Advisor Co-author: Asset Allocation For Dummies®(Wiley, May 2009)

Mr. Miccolis holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation, is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner, and is a fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS). He also is a member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA), the Financial Planning Association (FPA), and the New York Society of Security Analysts (NYSSA). Mr. Miccolis received a BS in Mathematics from Drexel University. Prior to joining Brinton Eaton in 2003, Jerry had over 30 years experience in the risk management and actuarial fields, including over 25 years with the international management consulting firm Towers Perrin, where he served as Principal and Global Practice Leader for the Enterprise Risk Management practice. He has chaired numerous professional committees and is a widely quoted author and speaker on the subject of strategic risk management. Mr. Miccolis specializes in financial planning, risk management, investment research, and portfolio management.

Colleen J. Betzler, CFP®

Principal, Chief Operating Officer and Senior Financial Advisor

Ms. Betzler is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner and a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA). She holds a BLA degree from Ball State University and has completed the CFP®education program at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Colleen joined Brinton Eaton in 1998, prior to which she did design and research work in the biomedical engineering field. Ms. Betzler specializes in financial planning, tax planning, estate planning, and portfolio management.

Principal, Chief Compliance Officer and Senior Financial Advisor

Mr. Welther is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner and a member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA). He has been awarded the Accredited Investment Fiduciary™ designation by the Center for Fiduciary Studies, and is currently taking the examinations for the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation. Mr. Welther holds a BS degree in Finance from Susquehanna University and has completed the CFP® education program at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Prior to joining Brinton Eaton in 1996, Jeremy performed municipal bond research for J. J. Kenny Company in New York. Mr. Welther specializes in financial planning, investment research, portfolio management, and tax planning.

Michael S. Maglio,

Principal and Senior Financial Advisor

Mr. Maglio has over 20 years of experience providing financial, tax and investment advice to high net worth individuals, corporate executives and families. He specializes in integrating tax and financial planning to create long-term strategies for his clients. Mike’s areas of focus include; comprehensive financial planning, tax planning, retirement planning and investment consulting.

Mike has spent the majority of his career in the private client services practices at international accounting firms, he was most recently was Managing Director of WTAS NJ. He holds a BA in Economics from Villanova University and an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

He will be a member of the firm’s management committee and is currently on the board of trustees of the Community Foundation of NJ where he serves as Chairman of the Investment Committee and Treasurer. Mike is a past adjunct professor of Tax and Finance courses at Montclair State University.

S. Jervis Brinton, Jr. (1923 -2011)

We are saddened to report that S. Jervis Brinton, Jr., one of the founding partners of Brinton Eaton, passed away on June 28, 2011. He was 87.

Jerv, as he was known, was an inspirational leader and a generous contributor to the Morris County and New Jersey philanthropic and business community. He embodied the traits of humility, compassion for others, education, and dedication to family in everything he did throughout his life. He was truly a gracious gentleman.

Jerv was Brinton Eaton’s first and only chairman and stayed involved in the business up until very recently. He took pride in the firm’s every success—large or small. We were very, very privileged to have known and worked with a man like Jerv. We will miss his vision, enthusiasm, and his friendship.

Ben A. Jacoby (1928 – 2011)

We are saddened to report that Ben Jacoby, one of the founding partners of Brinton Eaton, passed away on October 20, 2011. He was 83.

Ben Jacoby was a dedicated Morris County business and civic leader and recipient of the Robert E. Ohaus Award for Outstanding Service and Leadership. A resident of Summit, Mr. Jacoby, CFP™, was a co‐founder and senior financial advisor of Brinton Eaton. Ben was instrumental in guiding the firm and building Brinton Eaton into what it is today. For many years after the company was founded in 1988, Mr. Jacoby managed the investment portfolios of Brinton Eaton’s clients. Up until the time of his death, Mr. Jacoby was an enthusiastic and integral participant in the business.

Marla BaceMarla Bace

Principal and Chief Marketing Officer

Ms. Bace specializes in marketing strategy and communications. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Pace University. Prior to joining Brinton Eaton in 2009, Marla was responsible for the Global Marketing Best Practices group at UBS Wealth Management. She has over 20 years experience in the financial services industry. She started her marketing career at Nabisco Foods and has held positions at Ernst & Young, JP Morgan, Prudential Financial and Financial Executives International. Ms. Bace is responsible for developing, implementing and updating comprehensive marketing plans and accompanying strategies to build the firm’s consumer brand and stimulate revenue growth. Key responsibilities include marketing and client communications, branding, online and offline marketing all designed to enhance the customer experience and help grow the Firm.

Marina Goodman, CFP®

Investment Strategist

Ms. Goodman is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner. She holds B.A. degrees in mathematics and economics from Cornell University. Prior to joining Brinton Eaton in 2006, Marina worked as an actuarial associate for MetLife. There she developed financial models and Monte Carlo simulations for new products and evaluated investment strategies. Her article, “Applications of Actuarial Math to Financial Planning” has appeared in the September 2002 issue of the Journal of Financial Planning. Ms. Goodman specializes in investment analysis and portfolio management.

Ms. Critchley is a CPA and has the Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) designation. She holds a BS degree in accounting from Upsala College and an M.S. in Taxation from Seton Hall University. She is also a registered investment advisor and has earned Series 63 and 65 licenses from FINRA. Ms. Critchley is a member of the Financial Planning Association, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and New Jersey Society of CPAs. Prior to joining Brinton Eaton, Janet worked for KPMG and Eisner LLP for over 25 years as a senior manager doing tax compliance, planning, and research, and participating in development and design of financial plans both domestic and international. Ms. Critchley specializes in planning.

Matthew DiQuollo

Financial Analyst

Mr. DiQuollo has ten years’ experience working in capital markets trading, both in brokerage and asset management. Matt started his career on the trading desk at Fleet Bank and Bank of New York. Later, he became a trader at Vardon Capital Management, an investment management firm that at its peak had $800 million in assets under management. He holds a B.A. degree from Villanova University and is currently pursuing his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation. Matt works closely with Brinton Eaton’s financial advisors to develop strategies and plans for clients to achieve their lifestyle goals within their required risk tolerance and timeframes.

Melissa Archuleta

Melissa Archuleta

Assistant Director of Operations

Ms. Archuleta specializes in Operations, Accounting and Technology Management, providing Brinton Eaton with foundation support in these areas. Her role is to ensure that Brinton Eaton has the most advanced technology solutions available for its planners and strategists. Her responsibilities also encompass providing streamlined accounting and human resource functions to keep the firm running smoothly. Prior to joining Brinton Eaton, Ms. Archuleta was Director of Operations at Kabrik Trading, a New York-based broker dealer. At Kabrik, she managed firm-wide operations in accounting, information technology, compliance, human resources and back-office administration for the trading operation. She holds a Bachelors in Finance from University of Colorado.

Andrea Astor-SheehyAndrea Astor-Sheehy

Financial Writer and Editor

Ms. Sheehy has over 27 years’ experience in marketing communications and public relations, primarily in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Brinton Eaton in 2011, Andrea was a marketing editor and writer at J.H. Cohn LLP. Previously, she held positions at HSBC, Merrill Lynch, and Lehman Brothers. Ms. Sheehy holds a B.A. degree in Communications from Fordham University.

Adrian Fedorkiw

Investment Operations

Mr. Fedorkiw is responsible for processing trades firm-wide for all of Brinton Eaton’s financial advisors on behalf of their clients. In this role, he establishes and maintains all client accounts and manages multiple databases. He also serves as Brinton Eaton’s primary liaison to its third-party custodian. Additionally, Adrian facilitates the firm’s quarterly reporting process and manages the transfer of funds into and out of client accounts in response to IRA distribution instructions and other cashiering requests. Prior to joining Brinton Eaton, Adrian worked for ten years as a service advisor in the automotive industry.

Pamela Trunfio

Office Operations

Ms. Trunfio has over ten years’ experience in office administration and is responsible for providing administrative support to all departments within Brinton Eaton. Pam joined the firm in 2007, and since that time has been an integral member of the Brinton Eaton operations team. She maintains the firm’s client database, including contracts and financial reports, and serves as the Brinton Eaton liaison for all external vendors. In addition, she is responsible for inventory control and special client mailings. Prior to coming to Brinton Eaton, Ms. Trunfio worked as a freelance journalist and newspaper editor and provided administrative and customer relations support to companies in the medical, pharmaceutical, and advertising fields.

Debra Wood

Office Operations

Ms. Wood has 20 years’ experience in administration, office management, and marketing. She works closely with the Brinton Eaton team to ensure the professional and timely completion of essential administrative functions. Debbie’s responsibilities include completing paperwork on behalf of our clients, monitoring the in-house status of client tax returns, media exposure tracking and reporting, and marketing material and presentation preparation. She also assists with charitable donations and acknowledgements, expense reporting, travel arrangements, and phone coverage. Prior to joining Brinton Eaton, Ms. Wood worked as an Office Manager and Sales Coordinator for Mercedes Benz and as a media coordinator for Lanmark Group, a marketing/advertising firm specializing in the medical and dental industries.
